Course Policies
REFUND AND CANCELATION POLICY
Should a student be terminated or canceled for any reason, all refunds will be made according to the following guidelines:
-Student may withdraw from a class at any time by providing notice of cancellation to the assigned academic advisor at SERNA TECHNICAL CENTER.
– Student who cancel within the first business day of the enrollment agreement and before the start day of their first class, will receive a full refund of all tuition.
– Registration fee is non-refundable. The unexplained absence of a student for a student for more 15 school days will constitute cancellation to the school. For purposes of cancellation the date shall be the last of attendance.
– Cancellation after attendance has begun through 60% of the program will result in a prorated refund computed on the number of hours completed to the
total program hours.
– Cancellation after completing more than 60% of the program will result in no refund. – Termination date: The termination date for refund computation purposes is the last date of actual attendance by the student unless earlier notice is received.
– Refund will be made within 30 days of termination or receipt of the cancella- tion notice.
A statement of the institution's accreditation status with an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
The transferability of a certificate to other institutions
– If requested by the other institution, STC will provide its Institutional Catalog which includes course descriptions and objectives for all its programs of study.
-Transfer of credits received from STC to another institution is solely at the discretion of the accepting institution.
– No guarantee of transfer is made or implied by STC. Credits accepted by STC as transferred do not affect Satisfactory Academic
– Progress (the student enrolled with transferred credits will be evaluated for academic progress made in courses taken after the transfer of credits has been approved and applied.
– The transfer is free of charge and is done during the admission process. Credits accepted as transferred will be deducted from the total cost of the program.
SERNA TECHNICAL CENTER is not approved to operate by the Private Business and Vocational Schools Division of the
Illinois Board of Higher Education
SERNA TECHNICAL CENTER is not accredited by a US Department of Education recognized accrediting body.
