This course will help students identify the necessary components of electrical systems in real day to day scenarios in residential and commercial applications with local and state regulations under NEC NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE.

Objetive

The objective of the Electrical Technician program is to provide students with the skills necessary to perform as electrical technicians in a variety of contexts. Key aspects of the program are detailed below:

Competency Acquisition:
* Students will learn to diagnose, execute and budget electrical installations.
* They will acquire skills to maintain electrical protection, control and distribution equipment.

Areas of Focus:
* Electrical Installations:
Electrical technicians will be trained in the installation and maintenance of electrical systems in buildings, homes.
* Diagnosis and Repair:
They will learn to identify electrical problems using testing tools and repair or replace defective components.
*Regulatory Compliance:
They will be instructed in state and local building codes based on the National Electrical Code.

REFUND AND CANCELATION POLICY

Should a student be terminated or canceled for any reason, all refunds will be made according to the following guidelines:

Student may withdraw from a class at any time by providing notice of cancellation to the assigned academic advisor at SERNA TECHNICAL CENTER.

Student who cancel within the first business day of the enrollment agreement and before the start day of their first class, will receive a full refund of all tuition.
Registration fee is non-refundable. The unexplained absence of a student for a student for more 15 school days will constitute cancellation to the school. For purposes of cancellation the date shall be the last of attendance.
Cancellation after attendance has begun through 60% of the program will result in a prorated refund computed on the number of hours completed to the total program hours.
Cancellation after completing more than 60% of the program will result in no refund.

Termination date: The termination date for refund computation purposes is the last date of actual attendance by the student unless earlier notice is received. Refund will be made within 30 days of termination or receipt of the cancellation notice.

A statement of the institution’s accreditation status with an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

The transferability of a certificate to other institutions

A student may request an official transcript of credits from STC to go to another institution, the transcript is sent by regular mail within five (5) business days.
If requested by the other institution, STC will provide its Institutional Catalog which includes course descriptions and objectives for all its programs of study
Transfer of credits received from STC to another institution is solely at the discretion of the accepting institution.
No guarantee of transfer is made or implied by STC. Credits accepted by STC as transferred do not affect Satisfactory Academic – Progress (the student enrolled with transferred credits will be evaluated for academic progress made in courses taken after the transfer of credits has been approved and applied.
The transfer is free of charge and is done during the admission process. Credits accepted as transferred will be deducted from the total cost of the program.
